Advanced oil refining lines

Advanced oil refining lines

Alexandria Engineering Industries designs and manufactures advanced oil refining lines inspired by the well-established Syrian refining methodology, enhanced with modern engineering improvements for higher efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance. These systems are specifically optimized for processing used lubricating oils, industrial oils, or crude bio-oils that contain high levels of solid contaminants, sludge, and soil particles.

A key feature of this configuration is the integration of a robust primary sedimentation system at the inlet stage, which significantly reduces the soil and solid impurity load before the oil enters subsequent refining stages—thereby protecting downstream equipment, improving refining efficiency, and extending adsorbent or filter life.

Key Features:
  • Primary Sedimentation Unit:

    • Large-capacity settling tanks with extended retention time.
    • Gravity-based separation of sand, metal particles, dust, and heavy sludge.
    • Optional heating coils to lower oil viscosity and accelerate settling.
    • Sludge discharge system (manual or automated) for easy removal.
  • Syrian-Style Refining Core:

    • Proven multi-stage process combining acid treatment (optional), alkaline washing, clay filtration, and vacuum dehydration.
    • Designed for high-contamination feedstocks common in waste oil recycling.
  • Enhanced Modern Upgrades:

    • Stainless steel or corrosion-resistant construction.
    • Automated temperature and flow control.
    • Integrated oil-water separation and fume recovery.
    • Optional pre-filtration (e.g., coarse strainers or centrifuges) before sedimentation.
  • Reduced Soil Load = Longer Equipment Life:
By removing up to 80–90% of solid contaminants in the sedimentation stage, the system minimizes abrasion in pumps, clogging in filters, and fouling in heaters—resulting in lower maintenance and higher uptime.

  • Eco-Friendly Operation:

    • Closed-loop design minimizes emissions.
    • Sludge and wastewater can be directed to dedicated treatment or disposal units.

Typical Applications:
  • Recycling of used engine and industrial oils collected from workshops or scrapyards
  • Processing of oil contaminated with dust, sand, or metal fines (common in arid or industrial regions)
  • Small to medium-scale oil re-refining plants seeking cost-effective, robust technology
  • Facilities upgrading from basic Syrian-style units to more efficient, semi-automated systems
