Biodiesel production lines
Alexandria Engineering Industries offers complete, industrial-grade biodiesel production lines designed to convert a wide range of feedstocks—including virgin vegetable oils, waste cooking oil (UCO), animal fats, and non-edible oils—into high-quality FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) biodiesel that meets international standards such as EN 14214 and ASTM D6751.
Our systems are engineered for efficiency, reliability, and flexibility, with capacities ranging from 500 liters/day to 100,000 liters/day, suitable for small cooperatives, municipal recycling centers, and large-scale biofuel plants.
Core Process Technology
To handle diverse and often low-cost, high-acid feedstocks, our lines feature a dual-stage refining process:
1. Acid-Catalyzed Esterification (Pre-Treatment for High-FFA Oils)
- Converts Free Fatty Acids (FFA > 2%) into biodiesel using methanol and sulfuric acid.
- Reduces FFA to < 1–2%, enabling efficient base-catalyzed reaction.
2. Base-Catalyzed Transesterification (Main Reaction)
- Reacts triglycerides with methanol and NaOH/KOH catalyst to produce biodiesel + glycerol.
- Available in continuous (for large scale) or batch (for flexibility) configurations.
